How Hokku counts your results.
Every number in the app, defined in plain words. What it counts, and what it does not prove.

What we call a view
A view is an offer widget shown to a customer, recorded with their session.
Without a recorded view, no order is attributed to an offer.
When an order is attributed to an offer
Hokku reads every order when it is placed. It is attributed to an offer in three cases:
- Offer added with a click (every offer type except free gifts and free shipping): the customer saw the offer and clicked it within 30 minutes before ordering. Only the last click counts.
- Free gift: the customer saw the offer, and the order contains the gift product of an active offer.
- Free shipping: the customer saw the offer, the subtotal reaches the threshold, and the order ships for free.
For free shipping and free gifts, we count the order as triggered by the offer if the offer was active and the customer saw it. If several cases apply, a click comes before a free gift, and a free gift before free shipping. An order is credited to a single offer, never counted twice.
The numbers on your dashboard
- Offer views: how many times your offers were shown.
- Sales with an offer: the number of orders attributed to an offer.
- Influenced revenue: the total amount of these orders, whole order.
- Actually earned: for an offer added with a click, the value of the offer’s products in the order, after the discount, never more than the order. For free shipping and free gifts, we count the whole order they triggered, since they don’t add a paid product.
- Conversion rate: sales with an offer divided by offer views.
- Per order with an offer: the average amount of an attributed order.

What the amounts include
- Taxes and shipping included.
- Amounts in your store’s currency.
- Amounts at the time of the order: refunds are not deducted.
- Test orders excluded.
- A deleted offer keeps its revenue in the totals and in your offer types. It only leaves the ranking by offer.
Periods and updates
- Free plan: the last 7 or 30 days.
- From the Starter plan: also 90 days, “Since the start”, or a “Custom range” of dates of your choice.
- Each period is compared with the previous one, of the same length.
- The change in conversion rate shows once each period has at least 200 views.
- The effect on cart value compares the average cart with and without an offer as soon as there is one order on each side. The percentage difference shows from 30 orders on each side, the median from 5.
- New orders appear within a few minutes.

Why your numbers differ from Shopify’s
- The Hokku conversion rate divides by offer views, not by store visits. So it is higher than Shopify’s.
- Periods are counted in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Depending on your time zone, an order can fall one day earlier or later than in Shopify. “When your customers buy” follows your store’s time.
What these numbers do not prove
Presence is not cause: some of these sales would have happened without any offer.
That is why we talk about influenced revenue, never about revenue generated by Hokku.
The method is the same on every plan.
