This is the first article on the Hokku blog. It will probably be the shortest. Future ones will be longer, opinionated, and useful.
Why this blog exists
We are building Hokku, a Shopify app for bundles, upsells, cross-sells, and promotions. We have spent months listening to merchants. The same expectations keep coming back: a price that follows their orders, never their revenue, and a real answer when they write to support.
This blog is where we will write, in public, about how we are doing things differently. About pricing models. About the Shopify ecosystem. About what good support actually looks like. About performance budgets. About the trade-offs we make and the ones we refuse to make.
What you will find here
- Behind the scenes. Our pricing models, the Shopify ecosystem, what good support actually looks like, our performance budgets.
- Practical guides. How to set up your first bundle. How to read your analytics. How to think about upsells without becoming the merchant your customers complain about.
- Manifesto in motion. When we make a hard call internally (pricing, features, sub-processors), we will write about it here.
What you will never find here
- Listicles generated to game keywords. No “27 Best Shopify Apps Ranked!!” filler. Every article is checked against the product before it goes live.
- Affiliate links to apps we do not believe in. We would rather lose a sale than recommend something we do not believe in.
- Newsletter pop-ups, exit-intent guilt traps, or “get our free PDF” gates. If an article is worth reading, it should not be held hostage.
That is the deal. See you in the next one.
